TAIPING, April 25 — Revenge over a family feud is believed to have led to the death of a man in Larut Tin Sambungan, Pokok Assam, yesterday evening.

The victim was found with multiple injuries on the head and a broken right hand.

The district police chief here, ACP Harrith Kam Abdullah said the victim, aged 25, from Jalan Simpang near here, is believed to have been knocked down by a lorry after a fight with its driver.

He said police received information about a fatal accident in the area at about 5pm and upon arriving at the site, found the man dead.

“A motorcycle and a machete with blood stains was found near the victim,” he said in a statement here today.

Harrith Kam said that according to witnesses, the victim was riding a motorcycle with a friend when a lorry rammed into them and its driver fled.

Based on a preliminary investigations the victim is believed to have been intentionally knocked down by the lorry driver in an act of revenge after a fight with his family member.

He said the lorry driver was arrested at the Taiping Hospital at 8pm last night. Also detained was the motorcycle pillion rider and a man who had fought  with the victim. — Bernama
