KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 — Former national badminton legend Datuk Lee Chong Wei won the hearts of many with his latest post of appreciation for his wife, Datin Wong Mew Choo.

The post which saw Wong unable to hold back her tears during Lee’s speech at an event, was shared on Lee’s social media (Instagram and Facebook) yesterday.

The video was taken recently during his Madame Tussauds Hong Kong wax figure revelation in KL, where Lee gave a touching speech including shedding light on the lowest moment of his career.

The video was also shared by Lee in conjunction with International Women’s Day.

“Someone took this video secretly and sent the clip to me. This is a video of her, when I was sharing about the lowest point of my career.

“(When) I saw this video, instantly I crumbled and cried. What else do I need in life when I have this girl?

“Thank you wifey. I’m just the luckiest guy in the world. Love you ten thousand years. To all the women around the world, Happy International Women’s Day! #EmbraceEquity,” Lee captioned the post.

Lee also complimented his second son Terrance for comforting Wong in the video while cheekily asking the whereabouts of his eldest son, Kingston, during the speech.

The former world number one badminton player’s post has been viewed over 800,000 times on Instagram and has garnered over 100,000 likes with fellow friends and celebrities expressing their love for the couple.

“THAT is what true love looks like. Through the good times and the bad times. What a treasure Datuk! Better than any championship medal,” commented local radio announcer and actor Bernard Hiew.

“Awwwwww,” commented actress Mira Filzah.

“We love you both!” commented actor Arja Lee.

Lee is known for his emotional and sometimes quirky social media postings that he writes about his family.
