KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Malaysian football fans can watch the international friendly between the National team and Papua New Guinea for free at the Shah Alam Stadium on Monday.
Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) secretary-general Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin in a statement today said the decision was in appreciation of the support from the fans who had bought tickets to watch the National team in action throughout the year.
According to the statement, tickets for the international friendly was initially priced at RM30 for adults and RM5 for children below 12 years.
“We value the contribution from the fans throughout 2016. The friendly against Papua New Guinea is also the last match before the National team (Harimau Malaysia) compete in the 2016 AFF Suzuki Cup,” he said.
The match against Papua New Guinea will be the National team’s fifth on home soil throughout the year after playing against Macau at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka (March); two 2019 Asia Cup play-off against Timor-Leste at the Larkin Stadium on June 2 and 6, plus a friendly against Afghanistan at the Shah Alam Stadium on October 11.
Coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee’s boys will be in action at 3pm against Papua New Guinea to get used to playing under the hot weather since the AFF Suzuki Cup matches in Group B against Cambodia (November 20) and Vietnam (November 23) will be played in Yangon at 3pm. — Bernama
