Avril Lavigne and Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger split after two years of marriage

LOS ANGELES, Sept 3 — Forget about “Complicated”, everything is over between Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger.

The 30-year-old “Sk8er Boi” singer today took to Instagram to announce that she has ended her two year marriage to Kroeger.

“It is with heavy hearts that Chad and I announce our separation today,” the Canadian hitmaker wrote.

“Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we've created many unforgettable moments. We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.”

The 30-year-old married the Nickelback frontman, 40, in July 2013.

Rumours first emerged that the couple were headed for a split a year ago.
