KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 ― Share prices on Bursa Malaysia stayed higher at mid-morning on continued buying interest in selected heavyweights led by CIMB, PetGas and Genting.

At 11.05am, the  benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) was 2.33 points higher at 1,744.62, after opening 0.40 of-a-point better at 1,742.69.

However, market breadth was negative with losers outpacing gainers by 347 against 307 while 383 counters remained unchanged, 778 untraded and 19 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 1.29 billion shares worth RM743.75 million. 

Of heavyweights, Maybank erased one sen to RM9.24, Tenaga was flat at RM14.82, PBBank eased two sen to RM20.46, CIMB increased five sen to RM6.26 and Axiata added one sen to RM5.45.

Among active counters, ATTA-PR inched up half-a-sen to one sen, JAG added half-a-sen to 14.5 sen, Diversified Gateway shed one sen to 8.5 sen, BJCorp rose two sen to 37 sen, and Hibiscus increased one sen to 73.5 sen.

The FBM Emas Index fell 3.93 points to 12,580.87, FBMT 100 Index was 1.68 points lower at 12,217.81, FBM 70 decreased 68.72 points to 15,483.64, FBM Emas Shariah Index dropped 26.30 points to 13,026.50 and the FBM Ace eased 8.29 points to 6,828.15.  

Sector-wise, the Finance Index increased 25.97 points to 16,314.38 and Industrial Index inched up two points to 3,178.99 but the Plantation Index was 47.95 points lower at 8,020.92. ― Bernama
