KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today urged social media users to not dispute facts regarding the country’s economy even though they are free to disagree with his administration.

Speaking at the Malaysian Social Media Week summit here today, Najib said the fact remains that Malaysia’s economy has grown by 5.7 per cent in the first half of this year.

“Agree or disagree with us, but don’t dispute the facts,” Najib said.

“Don’t dispute the fact of a Malaysia that is respected and welcomed around the world,” he said.

“Social media practitioners have to be fair and responsible in what they write and post, and discriminating in what they read,” he added.

He warned of social media users and blogs that “spread lies and propaganda” against the government.
