SEREMBAN, April 24 — Burglars broke into a 4 digit lottery shop in Jalan Utham Singh and escaped with RM23,000 cash kept in a safe.
Seremban Police chief ACP Muhamad Zaki Harun said the break-in was found by the supervisor who opened the shop at about 7.30 am today.
“He was shocked to find the back door open, the alarm wires cut and signs of tampering to the back door and the ceiling.
“A safe kept in a special room was found opened and RM23,000 cash was missing,” he said in a statement today.
Police believe the burglars entered the shop after removing several pieces of roofing and breaking the iron grill using a grinder.
They will study closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage of the shop and the surrounding area.
The case is investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for burglary. — Bernama
