SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 2 — Apple is replacing the handgun emoji with a water pistol in the next version of its iPhone and iPad operating system, iOS 10.

The new green and orange emoji, with a white plastic trigger, resembles a harmless toy and will replace the black and silver revolver.

The water pistol is one of a number of emoji changes that the tech giant announced yesterday.

According to CNN, Apple will also introduce new and revamped emojis that show women doing stereotypically male jobs like detective, construction worker, and police officer.

There will also be new female athletes, a pride flag and family options for single parents.

Apple will release iOS 10 this September.
