LOS ANGELES, March 5 — Gaiam TV has announced that its health and well-being video subscription service is now available through an iOS app, meaning Gaiam subscribers can now access the video library via Apple tablets running iOS6.

Gaiam TV streams ad-free films, documentaries and original programs “dedicated to transformational media, alternative knowledge, personal growth and spirituality.” Videos feature spiritual leaders and fitness experts such as Deepak Chopra, Jillian Michaels, Rodney Yee, Wayne Dyer and the Dalai Lama.

The new app provides users with easy access to Gaiam’s collection of some 6,000 fitness classes, yoga videos, documentaries and more.

Several other virtual workout digital platforms are also available depending on user interest and needs. Some are free, while others feature small monthly fees. These include Crunch Live, from US fitness chain Crunch, which offers a wide range of fitness classes without a subscription. Other options include Daily Burn, which features a variety of exercise programs ranging from 15 to 60 minutes, and YogaGlo, which provides subscribers with access to seemingly endless yoga videos. Flirty Girl Fitness and The DailyHiit are two other, similar options.

Gaiam is currently offering a free 10-day trial for a limited time. The subscription is US$9.95 (RM32.66) per month. — AFP/Relaxnews
