KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — A contestant on the popular American television game show The Price is Right dislocated his shoulder while enthusiastically celebrating a win.
The contestant, Henry, was seen cheering himself to a hard tissue injury on a recent episode of the CBS show, after winning the game Bonkers, one of the six pricing games that are played on each hour-long show.
Incredibly, Henry injured himself while pumping his arms in celebration for correctly guessing the price of a trip to Hawaii.
When he later arrived to spin the wheel in order to advance to the Showcase Showdown, host Drew Carey announced that Henry’s wife, Alice, would instead spin the wheel.
“Let me explain what happened,” he said to the audience. “This is Alice, Henry’s wife. How you doing? Henry was celebrating and going ‘Woo’ and he dislocated his shoulder.
“He’s not going to be able to spin the wheel, but Alice is going to spin the wheel for him,” he added.
Luckily, Alice managed to land a 95 on the wheel, which sent Henry to the Showcase Showdown.
He ended up winning a trip to Hawaii... and the ER.
Instagram users who watched a posted video of Henry’s appearance on the show responded by saying they were glad he’s all healed now.
“What a trooper!” said one. “He stayed the entire game obviously in pain.”
Injuries have happened sporadically on the set of The Price is Right, which is in its 51st season with more than four million average daily viewers.
One contestant named Judy tumbled in 2014 while spinning the wheel and had to play the Showcase Showdown on crutches.
