TAIPEI, Sept 3 — Taiwanese actress Shu Qi and Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Fung are officially off the market after a surprise announcement of their marriage today, according to a report by Straits Times.

The pair has not openly acknowledged their relationship, but rumours linking them together have persisted after they appeared together in Hong Kong film Gorgeous.

In a press statement, they clarified that while they have known each other for almost 20 years, they only started dating four years ago.

“Yes, we've decided to be entangled with each other for life. You can miss anything, but don't miss out on the one who loves you,” the statement read.

The couple also thanked their fans and wisely nipped pregnancy rumours in the bud by saying, “PS. We’re currently not pregnant.”

There is no mention of the actual date of the wedding, but Shu Qi revealed that H&M sent her the wedding dress two years ago and the photos were taken last week.

Shu Qi, whose real name is Lin Li-Hui, is one of Asia’s top actresses and has appeared in movies from Hong Kong, Taiwan, China and South Korea. She also starred in French action film The Transporter.

Stephen Fung had a successful career as an actor in Hong Kong movies and TV series before venturing out as a director. He wrote, directed and starred in directorial debut Enter the Phoenix, which was became an instant hit, as well as House of Fury and the first two films in the ‘Taichi Trilogy’.
