KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 — Bursa Malaysia was lower at mid- afternoon today, weighed down by losses in blue-chips and in tandem with the weaker regional bourses.
At 3.02pm, the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) stood at 1,667.66, down 7.10 points from yesterday’s close of 1,674.76, after opening 3.24 points weaker at 1,671.52 this morning.
Market breadth was negative.
Losers outpaced gainers by 456 to 250 with 336 counters unchanged, 682 counters untraded and 36 others were suspended.
Turnover stood at 891.46 million shares worth RM973.61 million.
Of the heavyweights, TNB fell 20 sen to RM14.00, IHH eased two sen to RM6.55 and Petronas Chemical eased one sen to RM6.69.
Maybank added four sen to RM8.94.
Public Bank was flat at RM18.70.
Among actives, SapuraKencana rose a sen to RM1.65 and YKGI warrant improved 2.5 sen to seven sen.
Spring Gallery fell 11.5 sen to 90.5 sen and EKA Noodles eased half-a-sen to 12 sen.
The FBM Emas Index fell 51.51 points to 11,608.44, FBMT100 Index was down 52.42 points to 11,304.68, FBM Emas Syariah Index declined 52.71 points to 12,165.26 and the FBM70 dropped 75.55 points to 12,953.96.
The FBM Ace rose 16.44 points to 5,623.60.
On a sectoral basis, the Finance Index declined 36.29 points to 14,599.99 and the Industrial Index eased 30.02 points to 3,177.19.
The Plantation Index improved 4.59 points to 7,717.49. — Bernama
