KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — Police have thwarted 15 attempts by IS terrorists to launch attacks in the country since February 2013.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) said this clearly proved the commitment of the government to curb the IS terrorist group from expanding and threatening national security.

Meanwhile, KDN said 398 individuals were detained under offences related to terrorism between 2010 and last February.

“A total 271 of the individuals had ties to the IS terrorist group while the rest were connected to other terrorist groups,” said KDN in a written reply in Parliament to Tan Seng Giaw (DAP-Kepong) who wanted to know the latest development on IS or IS (Islamic State) and extremist activities in the country. — Bernama
