KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Food choices in Mid Valley Megamall just got a French boost with Yeast Bistronomy opening a new outpost there on Monday. The team behind the French boulangerie and bistro — Christophe Chatron-Michaud, Frank Denis Ruidavet and Lissan Teh — are no strangers in the F&B industry, having set up Yeast Bistronomy on Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar in 2012. In addition, they also have an Italian offshoot Fatto A Mano that opened its doors early 2015.

The Yeast Bistronomy brand is replicated in this spacious ground floor lot in the mall, as it's decked out in their signature yellow and red hues with their distinct black and white square-tiled floor. The eatery is split into two parts; the restaurant and a covered deck area kept cool with billowing fans that exudes a more casual vibe for breakfast or a quick lunch.

You can pick up breads and danishes from the boulangerie's shelves. It's good to note that they practise a “Happy Bread H” where there is a 30 per cent discount on all breads and Danishes from 5pm onwards. This is only applicable for take-away purchases.

As the place opens from 8am onwards, you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast here before work starts, or just join the crowd for a breakfast meeting. The breakfast menu is available up to 3pm.

The menu offers a variety of egg dishes, including baked eggs and their version of Eggs Benedict with creamy poached eggs topped with a bright yellow Bearnaise sauce on fluffy brioche toast. You get a choice between turkey ham or smoked salmon. A side salad of mixed greens dressed lightly with olive oil is served to alleviate any guilty pangs you have for eating such a cholesterol-rich meal. For a lighter meal, opt for croissants, savoury puffs, or a simple toasted baguette with butter and Bonne Maman preserve.

The hot kitchen also starts serving French classics like escargots, Croque Madame (grilled turkey ham and cheese sandwich) for the whole day starting from 11am. Two types of pasta is also available and main plates feature popular French items like Bouef Bouguignon, crispy duck confit and Steak au Poivre.
