KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — Fans of the legendary barbecued pork ribs from Naughty Nuri's Warung & Grill in Bali will be happy to hear that the "warung" is opening an outlet in Desa Sri Hartmas.
This was confirmed in a telephone conversation with Peter Khor who owns the trademark license to open the outlet.
According to Khor, he hopes to start business by the beginning of December. The outlet will take over the spot where Restoran Seoul is currently located at Jalan 24/70A. This will be right opposite Bricks & Barrels.
Khor is an F&B consultant who has worked on projects like Burp! Asian Food Gallery in Bangsar Shopping Centre and the Beach Club.
He has also hired Mark Robert, a well-known mixologist consultant, to manage the restaurant and bar.
In an article by The Wall Street Journal, Naughty Nuri's pork ribs have been described as tender and juicy with a winning sauce that is both sweet and peppery.
Khor confirms that the menu will include the famous pork ribs and babi guling. He will also be adding Asian tapas dishes to the menu.
The other star attraction of Naughty Nuri's is their martinis shaken in front of the diners and enjoyed ice-cold. They have the distinction of being dubbed by celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, as “the best martinis in the world.”
In addition, Khor confirms that he has signed to open another Naughty Nuri's at TREC, the new lifestyle and entertainment hub along Jalan Tun Abdul Razak.
According to The Star, the seven-acre hub has secured up to 70 per cent of their tenants including nightclub Zouk KL. Based on Khor's estimation, he hopes to get the unit from the developers by October 2015.
