MARAN, Feb 15 — Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) put up a vintage performance to beat high riding Felda United 2-0 in a second-round FA Cup match at the Tun Abdul Razak Stadium here, last night.
“It was a good match, we attacked a lot and dominated the game. I’m happy with the players, as they played according to plan and managed to win 2-0,” said JDT coach Benjamin Mora Mendivil during a press conference after the match.
He said, however, there was still room to improve the team’s performance in the next match.
“We have a long season ahead, so we rested some import players and replaced them with others. We have enough quality players who can play in the required manner and style,” he added.
Meanwhile, Felda United caretaker coach Mohamed Nik said his players played well despite losing to JDT.
“In the first half, the match was quite balanced, however, it changed after JDT went ahead. We had several golden chances to equalise, if one of them had gone in, the situation may have been different,” he said. — Bernama
