KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 31 — Two club teams of the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) League, UKM FC and Felcra FC, have progressed into the second round of the FA Cup after recording wins in their first round matches yesterday.

At Selayang Stadium last night, Felcra FC bounced back from a goal down in the first half to defeat Negri Sembilan representative, Penjara FC 2-1. 

Felcra FC’s two goals were slotted by Shahrizal Saad in the 70th minute and Muhd Haikal Mohd Nazri in the 99th minute while Penjara FC’s solitary goal was scored by Zulhemi Jumai in the 34th minute.

With the win, Felcra FC will face Premier League newcomer, Perlis in the second round at Tuanku Syed Putra Stadium in Kangar, Perlis on February 19.

Earlier in the evening, UKM FC squeezed past Hanelang FC of Terengganu in a 5-4 penalty shootout at UKM Mini Stadium in Bangi.

Both teams were tied at 1-1 at the end of full time play including 30 minutes extra time.

In the match, Muhammad Azri Zulkiflee put the host in the lead in the 57th minute before Muhd Safix Ibrahim equalised for Hanelang FC in the 75th minute.

UKM FC will be facing two-time FA Cup champions Kelantan on February 19 in the second round. — Bernama
