KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 26 — Malaysian pop band Paperplane Pursuit are back with their latest single Woohoo off their album Second Date.

An upbeat song, reminiscent of Feel Good and Beat of Your Love, it’s one of those tunes that are perfect for spontaneous road trips where you just let loose and sing-a-long at the top of your lungs.

“It’s the song in our album that best personifies the sound people have come to expect from us. Ultimately, when people listen to our music we want them to leave feeling good and encouraged. One of the most fulfilling things to hear is someone saying that our music made them feel a little happier when they were down,” shared the band’s bassist The Chief.

The song features a music video that was made in collaboration with Mini as part of its “A Mini Film Series” which features and celebrates people in creative industries.

Colourful and playful, the music video embodies the message and vibe of Woohoo. “The video itself is probably one of the most entertaining and fun videos we’ve done so far. We had a lot of fun shooting it, and we think people will have a lot of fun watching it too,” said guitarist Isaac Ravi.

“This music video is a milestone for the band as it is a celebration of local talent. The music video was conceptualised and made by Malaysians for an established, international brand,” added drummer Dru Yap.

“We very much stand for the idea that locally produced art can be something great... We’re very driven by the desire to be a living example that Malaysians can do this and more.”

Paperplane Pursuit is made up of John O (lead vocalist), Dru Yap (drummer), Isaac Ravi (guitarist) and The Chief (bassist). The group released their self-made debut album Malaysia 2.0 in 2011, Higher in 2014 and their third project, Second Date, in 2017.

Since their debut, the band has enjoyed success and even broke into the US Billboard Mainstream Top 40 Indicator Charts in September 2015 with their single Feel Good.
