SYDNEY, Feb 20 — Kylie Minogue broke off her engagement to Joshua Sasse because it “wasn’t meant to be”.
The 48-year-old Australian star opened up to The Sunday Herald Sun about the end of her engagement, telling the newspaper that she “looks forward to moving on, richer for the experience.”
Minogue remained wistful about not being able to find ‘The One,’ saying that “perhaps that’s just not my destiny.”
“I haven’t had the white picket fence and happy ever after in my life, so far, but perhaps that’s just not my destiny,” she was quoted as saying.
However, Minogue remained optimistic that he could yet walk into her life.
“I know love and I love to be in love,” she added.
The Can’t Get You Out of My Head singer announced the news that she had parted ways from the 29-year-old actor in early February just one year after announcing their engagement.
Sharing an Instagram post of a sunset, she wrote: “#lovers ... Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life. Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons. #thesunalwaysrises.”
According to sources, Minogue called time on their relationship due to her concern over Sasse’s relationship with Spanish actress Marta Milans, with a source telling The Sun: “She is absolutely devastated, totally heartbroken. She really believed he was The One. But she no longer trusts him.”
