LOS ANGELES, Oct 22 — Comedian and filmmaker Chris Rock will host the 88th Oscars ceremony next year, the Academy revealed yesterday, following media reports suggesting an official announcement was imminent.
The Grammy Award-winning comedian previously hosted the ceremony in 2005.
Among his most recent work, Rock directed the comedy special “Amy Schumer: Live at the Apollo,” which premiered this month on HBO, and in 2014 he wrote, directed and starred in the film “Top Five”.
The Oscars will take place on February 28, 2016 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. — AFP-Relaxnews
