NEW YORK, July 31 ― JR Ramirez will play a version of the DC superhero on the third season of the CW series, according to Deadline.
“Arrow” has certainly expanded its cast ahead of the upcoming season, to say the least. Before it was announced at Comic-Con that the Batman villain Ra’s Al Ghul would enter the fray, we learned that the third season would add Brandon Routh as The Atom, Peter Stormare as the latest incarnation of Count Vertigo and Devon Aki as the martial arts expert Katana. The latest addition is JR Ramirez in the role of the DC character Wildcat, aka Ted Grant.
A member of the Justice Society of America, Ted Grant first appeared in the DC Comics universe in 1942 as a mentor and trainer to Batman, Superman and Catwoman. The character first put on the Wildcat suit to clear his name after being wrongly accused by his mentor of committing a crime. In “Arrow,” Wildcat will be a former boxer who runs a gym for underprivileged kids.
The role will be played by the relatively unknown actor J.R. Ramirez, who can currently be seen on the Starz series “Power.”
The third season of “Archer,” starring Stephen Amell, premieres October 8 on the CW. ― AFP-Relaxnews
