SEBERANG PERAI, Feb 12 — The domestic worker who was allegedly abused by her employer in Bukit Mertajam, died from multiple organ failure, according to a post-mortem report released by the police today.

The post-mortem, conducted by Dr Amir Saad bin Abdul Rahim at Seberang Jaya Hospital, also revealed that Adelina Lisao’s organ failure was due to anaemia.

The report further stated that there is a high possibility that Lisao was neglected.

Lisao, 26, was admitted to Bukit Mertajam Hospital on Saturday with wounds on her hands and legs and bruises on her face.

“We arrested her in front of Bangunan Karpal Singh in Green Hall in George Town,” he said.

The 60-year-old will be brought to the Bukit Mertajam court for a remand order tomorrow.

The first two suspects have been remanded until February 14.

Police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder which carries a death sentence upon conviction.

Earlier, the Indonesian Consul for Consular Affairs Neni Kurniati was at the Seberang Jaya Hospital to officially identify Lisao’s body.

“We have positively identified her based on the photographs we have of her and we will obtain the full post mortem report from the local authorities tomorrow,” she told reporters at the mortuary.

On Saturday, Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim’s office visited a house in Medan Kota Permai 2 where Lisao was allegedly abused and forced to sleep in the car porch with her employer’s pet dog for a month.

When the employer refused to cooperate with Sim’s aides, his office lodged a police report on the case.
