IPOH, Feb 8 — Police are looking for an elderly man who allegedly took a picture of a girl and masturbated behind her in a shopping mall here on Feb 4.
The disgusting behaviour of the old man was exposed by Facebook user Kenny Wong, who witnessed the incident and immediately took a picture of the suspect.
Wong in his Facebook posting said the incident took place in Ipoh Parade shopping centre.
“You are old and you could be someone’s grandfather, it was disgusting seeing you take inappropriate pictures of a young girl.
“Not only did you take pictures of her but even went to the extent of masturbating right behind her.
“If it wasn’t for my mother who stopped me from exposing you right away, you would have been publicly humiliated,” he said in the post.
Wong also urged women to be careful in case they come across the man.
The post went viral with close to 2500 shares and 635 comment.
To Wong’s horror, other Facebook users started commenting that the man exposed by him had committed similar acts before.
One woman commented that the man molested her in a public place 20 years ago and she remembers his face clearly.
Another commented that he had seen the suspect walk around at a night marker while constantly rubbing his private part.
Ipoh police district chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Ali Tamby confirmed that a police report was lodged by the victim who was alerted by Wong.
“We are still looking for the suspect and we urge any witnesses to come forward,” he said in a WhatsApp message.
