KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 -- Police busted today the group called “Gang Bayu”, known for a string of house and shoplot break-ins over the past four months in Klang.

South Klang police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said the four suspects aged between 30 and 38 were picked up based on a tip-off.

“Our team had gone to a flat in Bukit Tinggi and arrested the first two suspects on the ground floor near one of the blocks at around 5.30am.

“Upon arresting the duo, we were led to the arrest of another two suspects at their homes respectively in another two flats nearby,” said Shamsul.

During the arrest police seized several electrical appliances ranging from a refrigerator, a table fan, washing machine, televisions and speakers.

They also seized three parangs and obtained a pawnshop receipt during the search.

Shamsul said all suspects confessed to their involvement in several break-ins committed around Bukit Tinggi and further investigations would be carried out to check if the gang had more members.

All suspects had previous records of drugs and criminal offences.
