PUTRAJAYA, Nov 25 ― The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation in the wake of the mass panic incident at Oxford Street and Oxford Circus Underground station following numerous reports of shots fired there yesterday (November 24).
In a statement today, Wisma Putra said later in the evening (Friday), London police reported that they had not found evidence of shots fired or any suspects and that the situation was back to normal.
About nine people were reportedly injured.
“So far, there has been no reports of Malaysians involved in the incident. Malaysians are advised to remain vigilant and follow the instructions by local authorities,” it said.
The ministry said the High Commission of Malaysia in London was in close contact with the local authorities and currently providing timely updates to the Malaysian community.
