PETALING JAYA, Oct 27 — Selangor Youth Community manager Zaiferez Hadzere Zainal lauded the government’s budget allocation for young Malaysians, especially the introduction of the trust fund units for newborns from next year.
He said the RM200 worth of unit trusts in the new Amanah Dana Anak Malaysia 2050 (ADAM50) scheme by Permodalan Nasional Berhad will be an investment in the nation’s future generations.
“With this, they are making sure the future generation will be able to save and move forward,” he said when contacted today.
The ADAM50 scheme will be gifted to all Malaysians born between January 1, 2018 and 2022.
He also praised the government’s RM250 million education development allocation under the National Transformation (TN50) initiative as a step in the right direction.
He believes the current generation of Malaysian schoolchildren will be able to secure better jobs in future with the funds aimed to upgrade the computer science module, including coding.
“It is a good thing to upgrade these education systems. Right now, the demand for coding skills are at a peak. There are jobs but there is not much talent.
“With this upgrade, the future generation will be able to reach the requirements and land jobs,” Zaiferez Hadzere said.
