ALOR SETAR, Oct 18 — The Islamic Religious Office in Langkawi has been instructed to investigate the existence of a new deviationist teaching on one of the islands there where a video of the movement has gone viral on the social media.
Kedah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAIK) Datuk Abdul Rahman Ismail advised Muslims not to be deceived by the movement and to lodge a report should they come across quarters disseminating Islamic teachings that deviated from the true teachings of the religion.
He also advised imam to play their role to avoid members of their congregation from being lured by the deviationist teachings.
The video on the alleged deviationist movement on Pulau Tuba showed a man, believed to be the leader, giving a talk on Islam which deviated from the true teachings of the religion and pictures of a house and hut where the movement carried out its activities. — Bernama
