BUKIT MERTAJAM, Oct 15 — The Magistrate’s Court here today dismissed the application by the police to obtain another remand order against DBI Properties managing director Datuk Noruliman A. Rahman and three other individuals detained over property scam involving RM6.2 million.

Magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azahar dismissed the application after accepting the reason submitted by counsel Faizul Mohd Nasir representing the four suspects that remand orders had been issued against them by several courts before.

“The court also allowed all of them to be released today,” she said.

Noruliman, 37, who is an actor known as Boy Iman, was arrested at the Bukit Indah police station, Ampang, Selangor, on Oct 2.

He had earlier been remanded in Ampang and Shah Alam, Selangor; Muar, Johor; Sungai Petani dan Kubang Pasu, Kedah; and in Kangar, Perlis.

The arrest was made after the police received 210 reports over fraudulent house sales allegedly committed by two companies, including DBI Properties, involving losses of RM6.2 million.

The companies were alleged to have offered houses to the buyers at a much cheaper price than the market price, at about RM60,000 for a bungalow unit measuring 1,650 square feet. — Bernama
