KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 — Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah Malaysia Organisation (Aswaja) president Zamihan Mat Zin, who was detained for allegedly making racially laced remarks, has been released on police bail.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri  Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd when contacted by Bernama confirmed the matter.

“He (Zamihan) was released at about 2 pm today. The investigation papers will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor as soon as possible,” he said.

Zamihan was detained at Dang Wangi  District Police Headquarters after making a report at 3.50pm on Wednesday.

He was remanded for two days to aid in the investigation under Section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948. — Bernama
