MIRI, Feb 14 — The police have detained two women, including a private kindergarten teacher in connection with trafficking an assortment of drugs.
The suspects aged 32 and 36 were picked up in a raid at about 1pm yesterday.
Miri police deputy chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the drugs comprising syabu and ecstasy weighed about 400 grams and were worth RM80,000.
“The drugs were seized from a Perodua Myvi belonging to one of the suspects, as well as a house rented by the women in Vista Perdana, Permyjaya,” he told reporters here today.
In another development, the police detained an Indonesian woman believed to be involved in drug trafficking, following seizure of 30.06 grams of syabu in her brassiere.
The drug was worth about RM3,000.
Ringgit said a medical officer stumbled on the drug during an examination at the Miri Hospital after the 26-year-old suspect was sent there due to stomach pain at 10.44pm.
“The suspect is being treated for ectopic pregnancy and the case is being investigated under Section 39(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he added. — Bernama
