KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 25 — Komugi Bakery Malaysia today apologised for the “unfortunate incident” where a rat was spotted on one of its trays of freshly baked bread at its store in a popular mall in Kuala Lumpur.

The Star Online reported that while she did not mention the name of the bakery chain, Komugi’s signature yellow twirls were seen in one of the pictures.

“We have been trying to resolve (the issue) for some time,” the online news portal quoted Komugi Malaysia as saying.

As an immediate measure to assist in the investigation, Komugi also said that they will be closing the outlet at the mall until further notice.

“Food safety and quality are our utmost priority and we take all cases very seriously,

“We will keep our communication channels  open for any enquiries and concerned parties can contact us at  [email protected],” it said.
