SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) welcomes the decision of the federal government to allow noted preacher, Dr Zakir Naik to proceed with his ceramah in Malacca on Sunday.
Mais chairman, Datuk Setia Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa said he believed the talk to be delivered by Dr Zakir would be academic in nature to explain to the general public on the aspect of religious comparison and to entertain questions on the matter.
“Mais always supports the implementation of such programmes as long as it does not go against the syariah and stipulated regulations,” he said in a statement, here today.
Mohamad Adzib meanwhile advised everyone against labelling any follower of other faiths as being negative and ‘devilish’ because such acts could lead to a feeling of hatred and enmity. — Bernama
