KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — Portuguese brand Sacoor Blue has chosen Malaysia for its first South-east Asia flagship store.

Described as a label for the conscious consumer, Sacoor Blue — located in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur — offers daily wear that is both versatile and comfortable.

According to Sacoor Group’s chief operations officer, Hugo Carriço: “Malaysia is one of the fastest-growing fashion markets in South-east Asia, and we believe that our vision to inspire and empower the next generation to dress and shop better will be well received here.

“Given the strong connection we have with Malaysia and its people, we thought this would be the perfect place to launch the flagship store.”

Sacoor Group’s journey into the local market began a decade ago with the opening of Sacoor Brothers in Pavilion KL. The brand has since been well-accepted by consumers and continues to grow; Sacoor Brothers presently has over 15 stores across Malaysia.

Over the past few years, there has been an increase in consumers who prefer to purchase from brands that have an eco-conscious outlook.

Cognisant of this growing mindset, Sacoor Blue was launched as a platform to facilitate the conversation surrounding conscious living.

“The story behind this brand is inspired by someone who has left the fast-paced city lifestyle to go back to their roots, and live a simpler life,” Carriço told Malay Mail at the store’s official opening. He was accompanied by Pavilion CEO Datuk Joyce Yap for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“Motivated by the rise in the number of people working from home and the serene countryside of South Portugal, we want to encourage consumers to reconnect with nature and make sustainable choices,” he added.

In line with its sustainable living concept, the store has set up a Kloth Cares bin as an avenue for consumers to donate their old clothes. Even price tags are attached to clothes with twine instead of the usual plastic.

Taking inspiration from the countryside homes in South Portugal, green elements are incorporated throughout the interior to give a down-to-earth feel. The store exudes a calming ambience with wooden details, a variety of vibrant foliage and rattan chairs that add to the outdoor aesthetic.

Its ‘A.W.A.R.E’ capsule collection has been created with eco consciousness in mind. The product line ranges from comfortable sportswear to cosy sweaters and tailored jackets.
