KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 — If you’re a big fan of the crispy golden yau char kwai or cakoi, as it is known in Malay, join the #CakoiCamni contest on Butterkicap, a collaboration with I Love Yoo!.
All you need to do is to like/follow Butterkicap and I Love Yoo! on Instagram, and load a video of how you enjoy your yau char kwaior cakoi and you may walk away with the prize of RM1,000 worth of I Love Yoo!’s vouchers.

Butterkicap is a portal where all delicious things gather.
Surf the friendly website with its colourful and delicious pages and you will find cooking tips, heritage recipes, stories from entrepreneurs and the list goes on.
It’s the brainchild of four individuals — Nadia Jasmi, Yap Shiuh Wei, Nik Michael Imran and I.M. Mohamed — who had bonded together over food.
The dual language website hopes to also unite everyone by inspiring them to get into the kitchen to cook a meal to be shared with others.
“We believe that Butterkicap can be the right tool for anyone who wants to form real human connections and experience a new, possibility-filled Malaysia through stories of her people, food and places,” explained Shiuh Wei.
Users can also contribute their recipes and food stories by emailing contributors@butterkicap.com.
They hope to preserve these recipes like a national archive.
A kitchen lab will help to demystify the “agak-agak” in inherited recipes so it is easier to recreate those dishes you loved eating when you were growing up.
