LOS ANGELES, Dec 18 ― It seems that Pizza Hut is the go-to delivery meal option for American households, after Google’s annual Zeitgeist report found that the pizza giant was the leading search term in the food category over 2013.
The states where Pizza Hut is the most popular? Texas, Mississippi and Kansas.
Recently, the company made news headlines after the general manager of a restaurant in Indiana claimed he was fired after refusing to open on Thanksgiving. The company went into damage control mode and promptly offered the 28-year-old his job back.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the spectrum, the most popular search term in the restaurant category was Nobu, a fine-dining Japanese chain that boasts a celebrity following and long waiting lists.
Interest is highest among residents in Nevada.
Nobu has become a veritable empire, with locations in New York, Las Vegas, Beijing, Tokyo, Melbourne and Moscow.
