SUBANG JAYA, April 24 — Malaysian car fans who attend the Malaysia Autoshow will have a chance to find out what it’s like to be driven by star drivers Karamjit Singh and James Veerapen.

The two have amassed multiple accolades — Karamjit is a three-time Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) title winner and also won the 2002 Production Car World Championship (PWRC) title, while James has won multiple races including the 2017 Sepang 1000km (S1K) race.

Visitors who either book a Proton or buy merchandise and spare parts during the show have an opportunity to sit in the passenger seat as Karamjit and James take them on a thrilling joy ride.

The star drivers and joy rides are just part of the immersive experience that Proton will offer at the show. Show goers who book a new car at the dual-level display will be able to grab gift vouchers in a special game booth that can then be used towards the purchase of their new Proton.

Proton will also be showcasing its efforts in motorsports, offering racing fans a chance to get up close with its competition machines. Taking the spotlight will be the Proton Iriz rally car, which is making its Malaysian debut and has been developed to compete in regional and the World Rally Championship 2 (WRC2) series.

James has won multiple races including the 2017 Sepang 1000km (S1K) race.
