PETALING JAYA, March 10 — Ford Motor Company is optimistic of maintaining its sales momentum in Malaysia, driven by four new models to be introduced this year.
Managing Director for Malaysia and Asia Pacific Emerging Markets David Westerman said 12,130 Ford vehicles were sold in 2015.
“We will bring in our best cars, trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to Malaysia and we are confident they will be accepted by Malaysian consumers,” he told Bernama after launching the New Focus model here today.
The third generation Ford Focus offers three variants with a turbocharged 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine model priced at RM118,000 while the Sport version and the Titanium sedan are each priced at RM139,888 without insurance, in Peninsula Malaysia.
Westerman said the Ranger was expected to remain Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Malaysia this year, followed by the sporty Fiesta model.
“We have high expectation for the new Focus model as we believe it is the most powerful compact car available in the market currently,” he said.
Earlier this month, Ford launched the ‘S-Max’, the new seven-seater multipurpose vehicle, and the company is scheduled to unveil the facelift version of the Everest SUV and Mustang sports car in the first half of 2016, he said. — Bernama
