SAN FRANCISCO, Feb 25 — What LG’s latest affordable handset lacks in processing power it more than makes up for in battery life.
When polled, most consumers still single out battery life as the biggest single concern when choosing a new smartphone.
So with its latest affordable handset, the X power2, set to make its debut at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Monday, LG is putting a premium on all-day power.
So much so that if you’re the sort of consumer that looks straight at the processor’s size and the amount of RAM on-board when weighing up an Android handset, you could be slightly disappointed — it’s got an octa-core chip clocked at 1.5GHz and 2GB of RAM trying to smooth the transition between swipes and apps.
However, this handset can offer 18 hours of web browsing, 15 hours of video playback, or 14 hours of turn-by-turn navigation on a single charge. And it uses fast charging technology so that when you do have to plug it in, you won’t be sitting around twiddling your thumbs and glancing at your watch.
In terms of operating system it comes with Android Nougat out of the box, while its imaging capabilities should get the job done for most people too — a 13 mega-pixel camera on the back and a 5-mega-pixel unit on the front. And while the screen resolution is just HD, it is a generously proportioned 5.5-inches. — AFP-Relaxnews
