NEW YORK, Jan 28 — Misfit announced this week that it has joined forces with several digital industry stars that will integrate music-playing, ambient temperature control, texting and smart home features such as door locking and light-switch control in its Flash wearable.
The new system was first demoed at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this month, when Misfit announced its debut in the smart home industry with the Misfit Bolt smart lightbulb.
From now on, you can use Flash—Misfit’s US$50 fitness and sleep tracker—to turn on your favorite Spotify playlist and stay connected to friends and family using Yo’s messaging service.
Also taking part are smart home apps Nest, Harmony API and August Smart Lock, which in the case of Nest will allow you to wake up to your ideal temperature, provided by Flash’s sleep tracking functionality.
August Smart Lock allows you to unlock doors directly from your Flash, without a smartphone.
In the case of Harmony API, you can use your Flash to control your TV and music players.
