LOS ANGELES, Nov 8 ― Horror movie An American Werewolf in London is getting a remake reports Deadline.

The 1981 John Landis classic is set to be rewritten and directed by the filmmaker’s son Max, with The Walking Dead producers David Alpert and Robert Kirkman producing through their Skybound Entertainment for Universal Pictures.

The original movie, which marks its 35th anniversary this year, starred David Naughton, known at the time for his Dr. Pepper commercials, Jenny Agutter and Griffin Dunne.

The film told the story of two kids on a hiking holiday in England who are attacked by a werewolf. Dunne’s character is killed but Naughton’s survives, albeit as a werewolf.

Although it initially opened to mixed reviews, the film soon became a cult classic.
