SYDNEY, Oct 27 — Qantas Airways has unveiled a new logo in preparation for its reception of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner a year from now.

Frequent Qantas flyers will notice the addition of a silver band that extends from the tail to the rear of the fuselage, to add a more “premium feel,” a simplified, cleaner kangaroo silhouette, and a slimmer font for the Qantas name on the side of the aircraft.

The word Qantas has also been added to the belly of the aircraft for increased visibility from the ground.

And for passengers who like to take photos of the clouds in-flight, the carrier has also added the kangaroo logo to the inside curved edge of the wingtips to serve as a reminder of the airline they’re flying on.

The change marks the fifth time the tail of the Qantas aircraft has been updated since it was first introduced in 1944.

The new design has begun roll-out across the Qantas network. — AFP-Relaxnews
