PETALING JAYA — Danny Mills loved his media work in Malaysia so much he is looking forward to return for future assignments.
Former England rightback Mills, who won 19 caps, is part of Astro SuperSport’s live English Premier League coverage for the whole of this month.
“The weather is great. I’ve enjoyed the different cultures. I’ve been sightseeing, went to Putrajaya among other places,” Mills said during his visit to Malay Mail office today.
“It’s a beautiful country. It’s been great working here. I’m sure I’ll be back for more.”
The 40-year-old, who retired in 2009, also gave thumbs up to Malaysian food having sampled local delicacies.
“I experienced some street food. They all taste great,” he said.
Asked about his experience meeting six fans over two episodes on Astro’s Man On The Street show, Mills remarked: “EPL is huge here.
“Sitting in the studio anywhere in the world is pretty much the same.
“But to go out and meet people, interact with fans and get their perspective was really good. I enjoyed it.”
Best remembered for his playing time with Leeds United, Mills also had stints at Charlton and Manchester City.
He played in all five matches of England’s run to the 2002 World Cup quarterfinals, where Brazil legend Pele called him the Three Lions’ best player.
Mills flies back to England on Monday.
