KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 ― Negri Sembilan stayed atop the Premier League with a 1-0 victory over Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) in their seventh match of the season at Stadium Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Paroi, Seremban, last night.

Marco Simic's goal in 65th minute was enough for the Deers coached by Mohd Asri Ninggal to pick up three valuable points at home.

Terenganu also kept up the pressure on Negri Sembilan, beating Sabah 2-0 at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium in Kuala Terengganu.

The Turtle's two goals came from Mohd Faiz Mohd Nasir in the 32nd minute and Lazaro Vinicius in the 51st minute.

Sabah's Dendy Lowa was red carded by referee Muhd Rahmat Jantan after he fouled Terengganu captain Issey Nakajima-Farran towards the end of the match.

Perak State Development Corporation Football Club (PKNP FC) maintained third after a 2-1 win over the MISC-MIFA at Petaling Jaya City Council Stadium.          

Bodric Dimitri Tagne Foguieng had put the hosts ahead in 20th minute through a penalty kick before PKNP FC fought back with Shahrel Fikri Fauzi scoring in the 32nd minute and Gilberto Fortunato adding the winner in the 84th minute.

At Darul Makmur Stadium, Johor Darul Ta'zim II recorded a comfortable 5-2 victory over Kuantan FA.

The Southern Tigers' five goals came from D. Saarvindran in the second minute, Nicolas Fernandez (eight minute), Jeronimo Barrales (55th minute), Syafiq Helmi (74th minute) and Mohd Syazwan Andik in the 76th minute.

Kuantan's two goals were scored by Shim Woon Sub in the 78th minute and  Abdul Malik Mat Ariff through a spot kick in the 89th minute.

Kuala Lumpur, under the guidance of new coach Fabio Joaquim da Silva of Brazil, returned to winning ways, beating Perlis 2-0 at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium.

“The Hawks” two goals were contributed by Brazilian import player Guilherme de Paula in the seventh and 52nd minutes.

In the meantime, Police (PDRM) and UiTM FC shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw at Hang Jebat Stadium in Malacca.

Singapore international Safuwan Baharudin had put “The Cops” in front in the eighth minute of the match before Akanni-Sunday Wasiu equalised for UiTM FC in the 53rd minute. ― Bernama
