YANGON, Nov 19 ― National striker Darren Lok is ready to prove his worth when Malaysia take on Cambodia in their opening AFF Suzuki Cup Group B match at the Thuwunna Stadium, tomorrow.
The Johor Darul Ta’zim II player who is of English-Malaysian parentage, pledged to give his best if fielded by national head coach, Datuk Ong Kim Swee tomorrow.
“I don’t mind partnering any strikers, including Ahmad Hazwan Bakri, as long as it will help the team to win tomorrow’s match,” he told reporters after the national team’s training session, here, today.
“Ahmad Hazwan, for instance is a different player for me. He likes to go deeper upfront but I prefer to stay as the backup (striker) but the partnership between us is good all this while,” he added.
Apart from Lok and Ahmad Hazwan, Kim Swee has Mohd Safee Sali and Norshahrul Idlan Talaha as strikers.
