ALOR SETAR, Oct 22 ― Malaysia Cup finalists Kedah scored a narrow 1-0 win over Felda United at Stadium Darul Aman, here, tonight, retaining third spot in the Super League standings with 37 points.
Both teams laboured on the field for most of the game, however Tan Cheng Hoe's team finally broke the deadlock in the 81st minute as New Zealand import player, Smelts Shane Edward scored after a brilliant pass from teammate, Liridon Krasniqi.
The Football Association of Malaysia in a statement earlier had awarded a default 3-0 victory to Pahang for a match it played against Kedah on August 3.
The three valuable points were obtained by Pahang following the decision by the Football Association of Malaysia's (FAM) disciplinary team that the Kedah Football Association (KFA) was found guilty of fielding defender Mohd Rizal Mohd Ghazali who had been suspended automatically.
According to FAM, KFA was fined RM5,000 and given a stern warning of harsher penalties if it were to repeat the offence.
