LONDON, Feb 21 ― Fashion house Miu Miu has signed up American actress Dakota Fanning to direct the 15th and final instalment in its Miu Miu Women’s Tales short film series, directed by and dedicated to 21st-century women. This short video, lasting around 10 minutes, premiered on Monday, at London Fashion Week, where fall/winter 2018-2019 collections are currently being shown.
Fanning teamed up on the project with screenwriter Liz Hannah, who co-wrote Steven Spielberg’s The Post. The short film stars Eve Hewson and Christina Rouner, as well as British actor Tom Sturridge.
Fanning is the 15th woman invited by Miu Miu to direct a short film for the Women’s Tales series. Celia Rowlson-Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Naomi Kawase and Agnès Varda have also directed films as part of the project.
The short film, called Hello Apartment, focuses on the importance of the first home in which women spend the first years of their adult lives, and their relationships with those homes. The theme is inspired by the personal experience of Fanning, who makes her directorial debut with the film. ― AFP-Relaxnews
