MUMBAI, April 10 — The trailer for Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s Half Girlfriend has finally been released and this film marks the first time this pair will be seen on screen together.
Based on Chetan Bhagat’s fourth novel, the film revolves around the love story between Madhav Jha and Riya Somani. Riya is a Delhi girl who comes from a very affluent family while Madhav is a middle-class boy from Bihari who cannot speak English very well.
The two meet at St Stephens College in Delhi and bond over their love of basketball. Riya points out though that her relationship with Madhav can be best described as a half a girlfriend.
The trailer reveals that the pair will part ways on a bitter note with Riya moving to New York. Haunted by the thought of losing Riya forever, Madhav then sets out to win her back. Will his perseverance pay off?
Half Girlfriend, which is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Bhagat, is set for release on May 19.
