LOS ANGELES, March 10 — A fresh series from David Farr, the writer behind the hit BBC/AMC thriller The Night Manager, is in development, with the show reportedly set to be based on 2011’s offbeat assassin movie Hanna.
Hanna — based on the story of an ex-government operative’s daughter turned assassin — earned US$63.8 million (RM284.58 million) worldwide and US$40.3 million domestically, was also co-written by Farr, with Seth Lochhead for Universal’s Focus Features.
The project to turn the film into a series is being reportedly being developed with NBCUniversal’s International Studios’ LA scripted team, headed up by JoAnn Alfano and Tomorrow ITV Studios’ Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements.
Deadline reports that Farr is also currently writing BBC historical epic Troy: Fall of a City, a limited series set around the events of the Trojan War and the love affair between Paris and Helen of Troy. — AFP-Relaxnews
