LOS ANGELES, July 18 — You might want to invest in a night light after watching this new clip from upcoming horror film Lights Out.
Adapted from the short film of the same name, Lights Out is directed by David F. Sandberg and The Conjuring director James Wan. The film centres on a young boy named Martin and his older sister Rebecca who realise that they can see a woman lurking in the shadows whenever the lights go out.
They begin to investigate the strange phenomenon going on around them and eventually find out that it has something to do with a mysterious event from their mother’s past.
The official synopsis of the film reads: “When Rebecca left home, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother, Martin, is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother, Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.”
Lights Out stars Maria Bello, Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Billy Burke and Alexander DiPersia. The film is set for release on July 21.
