LOS ANGELES, Feb 10 — Johnny Depp will be appearing in Universal Pictures’ The Invisible Man according to reports by Deadline.

Depp will most likely play Dr Jack Griffin, a scientist who turns himself invisible, losing his sanity in the process. Based on the great novel by science fiction maestro H.G. Wells, the original 1933 The Invisible Man starred Claude Raines.

The Invisible Man is just one of many Monsters films Universal is looking to produce, with The Mummy — starring Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella — set to kick things off in June of next year according to IGN.

The new Invisible Man does not yet have a writer, director, or timetable for production as yet, so we’re not sure when it will be out.
